The medical field has a wide range of career opportunities. Some of these career opportunities are described below. Anesthesiologists: Anesthesiologists are responsible for the administration of patients during a surgery and they monitor the patient’s vital sign. The working place of anesthesiologists is usually in hospitals or in outpatient clinics. Colon & Rectal Surgeons: Colon and rectal surgeons treat diseases which affect the colon, rectum, and the intestines. Dermatologist: Dermatologists treat skin disorders, but they also disorder which are affected to the nails, mouth, treat, and hair. General internists: General internists provide non-surgical treatments and they diagnose injuries and diseases. General pediatricians: General pediatricians provide care from a child’s birth until their early adulthood. Neurological Surgery/Neurology: Neurological surgeons and neurologists treat disorders relating to the brain and spinal cord, blood vessels, muscles, and the associated nerves. Nuclear Medicine: Nuclear medicine specialists treat diseases with the help of atoms and radioactive molecules. Obstetrics & Gynecology: Obstetricians and gynecologists are specialized in women’s health and childbirth. They treat and prevent female reproductive system diseases and disorders. Ophthalmology: Ophthalmologists offer general vision services and they treat, either surgically or medically, disorders of the eye. Orthopedic Surgery: Orthopedic surgeons work to maintain function of limbs, the spine, and associated muscles through surgical or physical means. Surgeons can specialize in a number of areas, such as pediatrics, spine, sports, or hands. Otolaryngology: Otolaryngology professionals provide care of the head and the neck and they also treat disorders of the throat, nose, ears, and respiratory system. Pathology: Pathologists apply laboratory techniques to specimens of body fluid, cells, and tissue to diagnose and monitor a disease. Pediatrics: Pediatrician offer preventative services as well as treatment of diseases to children from birth to adolescence. Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation: Physiatrists apply rehabilitation and pain management to patients who have physical disabilities. They apply these techniques toward a goal of maximum function. Physician and Surgeon: Physicians and surgeons apply surgeries. Their task includes the care in all the phases of the surgery which may affect any part of the body. Physicians and surgeons are specialized in the treatment of diseases, injuries, and deformities through operative procedures. Usually they work in hospitals or in outpatient clinics. Preventative Medicine: Preventative medical professionals are often specialized in general prevention, aerospace medicine, occupational medicine, and in public health. These specialists work toward general prevention and maintenance of good health. Psychiatry: Psychiatrists offer treatment and prevention methods for mental, emotional, and addictive disorders. X-Ray Technician (Radiologists): X-Ray Technicians diagnose and treat diseases by using x-ray images. These radiologists also use radiant energy to treat diseases such as cancer. Thoracic: Thoracic surgeons treat patients who have chest disorders involving the heart, lungs, trachea, esophagus, and other areas of the chest.
