Vocational Schools Types

Vocational Schools Types

Find Vocational Schools in Your Area...

Vocational schools are institutions that offer only short term courses. The offerings are mostly found in traditional schools that have 70 percent of the total number of enrolees every year. In this kind of institution there are two more types such as online vocational schools and some boarding schools in the US and in other developed countries of the world.

The following are basic definitions of the different vocational school types for your greater understanding if you are a student who may be planning to enrol in vocational courses.

- Traditional vocational schools – This is the most usual type of vocational technical schools enrolled by students since this is the oldest system. Traditional schools are day and night schools you usually see around the world. These schools are getting the bulk of annual enrolments. Recent surveys showed 70 percent of the students are enrolled in traditional schools and only 30 percent are shared by boarding schools and online education.

- Vocational boarding schools – This boarding school type of vocational trade schools is not much recognized in third world countries. However, they are very visible and recognized as alternative schools in the United States and in other progressive countries of the world. The vocational boarding school system is usually preferred for international students who plan to study abroad. They are given packages to choose from such as weekly, monthly or full boarding – and international students usually choose full boarding. Technical and vocational schools constructed student villages and dormitories for this purpose.

- Online vocational education – This is another school type which is created based on online education. This system will not work without the modern internet system since international students have to enrol and attend classes only on online periods. The students are given the time where they can go live during online class interactions. The best benefit you can get in this online program is that you can attend classes anywhere. It may be in your home, office and other places you want, or while you are vacationing in the province as long as you have your laptop computer with you.
