Boarding Schools Education Programs

Find Boarding Schools in Your Area...

Most boarding schools are only for pupils and students whose ages are from 3 years year’s old until 18 years old. Their educational programs include kindergarten program, junior boarding program and college pre program. Some schools open educational programs until the age of 18 to really prepare students to college. Below are deeper definitions of how these boarding school programs work?

Kindergarten programs

Kindergarten programs are for kids whose age range from 3 years up to 6 years old. This program is also divided into categories such as play group, junior kindergarten and senior kindergarten. Those considered as play group are kids from 3 years old to 5 years old. There is not much pressure on them to learn since they’re in much younger years. They are only except to identifying objects, things, animals and all other easy subjects. For junior kindergarten the age is usually five years old. The kind of education is now higher than play group. For senior kindergarten program the age of students is usually six and the learning process already includes math, English, and other subjects. Here the student is being prepared for the junior boarding program to be able to read and write.

Junior boarding program

The junior boarding school is also called primary education or elementary education in other countries of the world. The students here range from seven to twelve years old. Here the students learn to study more or less eight subject matters which may include math, English, history, science, physical education, social studies and other basic subjects in the elementary division.

College prep program

The college prep programs are called high school programs which are aimed to train and prepare students for college life. The subjects are more difficult than in the elementary level. Usually a month before graduation day the schools invite a college professional to conduct the orientation program of their college offerings. This is an opportunity for the boarding school students so that they can learn the many offers before they decide for themselves.
