All schools in the district will have new principals. Principals’ assignment weren’t announced until few weeks before classes begin. This was made earlier than the past few years in order to give time for principals to make some plans especially they were expected to have new assignments. Superintendent Art Stellar said it’s been a general rule of thumb in Burke County to move principals to new schools in order to sharpen principals and also put a consideration to their career path. Stellar believe that there is no perfect principal for a school despite the surprised faces of parent’s loosing a popular principal. There are lots of options to choose from if they consider selecting principals outside but the school district suggest that they place principals inside the county and some of the principals will be assigned as assistant principals of merging schools. The N.C. Department of instruction will allocate finances for the assistant principals according to the number of student enrollment. This effort was made in order to line up the number of assistant principals with the state budget and to reduce school expenses. Also to end the practice of paying extra expenses using the local fund.

The county decided to merge six schools into three and each high school will have two assistant principals by 2010-11 and four middle schools will share two principals at once. The list of merging schools are; Mountain View and Hillcrest elementary into all new Mountain Crest Elementary School in Morganton, Drexel Primary’s K-2 program with Hallyburton Elementary third through fifth grades into Drexel Elementary School, two alternative high schools in Hildebran and Morganton into Hallyburton Academy. International LanguageA lot of opportunities are open for students worldwide. Learning and teaching English has been gaining popularity and open to anybody able to speak the language fluently. You can find work from anywhere in the world when you have a teaching degree in English or its equivalent credibility and degree programs. For those who want to teach English abroad, there are basically two options, teaching English in private language schools or teaching English in International schools.

Teaching English in International Schools are usually in elementary, middle and high schools for kids whose families are in another foreign country. International schools are offered in American curriculum, British curriculum and others. In most international schools world wide, the common language of instruction is English although most students have English as just their second or third language. Therefore, teachers who can teach the English language to these students are highly in demand. The same qualifications are needed to be able to teach English abroad in international schools as it is in private language schools. The challenge lies in being able to compete with people who have outstanding teaching credentials. There is more than 4000 international schools world wide promising large number of vacant positions each year.

On the other hand, teaching positions in private institutions are easier to secure compared to international institutions. You just need to be able to speak fluent in English and a supporting certificate from Trinity or CELTA. While some language schools just hire native English speakers without any ESL qualification, they are likely to be not as reputable as other schools that actually require certain appropriate qualifications. Working in private institutions can be rewarding. You’ll probably have a combination of classes or private lessons. However, teaching abroad in international schools is better and highly recommended. It is because international schools pay better and offer more benefits than in private schools. Some benefits include annual flights, medical insurance, accommodation allowance and free tuition for your kids. Also, it follows the regular school year, unlike private language schools where you’ll have 3-4 weeks holiday in a contract of 12 months.

Many parents differentiated only private schools as having the high tuition and other matriculation expenses. However, we can define a private school from a public school in its proper perspective.

Here’s how:

For private schools

    * Private schools really have much higher fees than public schools because these schools invested millions of dollars in constructing their buildings, laboratory facilities, salaries for quality and high-caliber professors with masters and doctorate degrees.

    * Private schools are conducive for learning for students because they have well ventilated building structures. This means most of the classrooms in private schools have air condition units, so that the learning activities are really ideal.

    * Private schools truly promote quality of education considering they hire top professionals in the industry. This means their graduates are really good professionals.

    * Private schools have strict compliance in their student acceptance policies. If you are below average student you will not accepted to private schools. Many boarding schools are now very visible in the US because a decade ago many parents have realized the effective strategies it is implementing which really results to better and quality graduates.

For public schools

    * Public schools are maintained by the government. This means the kind of education they can offer depend on the budget allocation of local school boards.

    * Public schools are not really compatible with private schools when it comes to quality education. Although some public schools also produce good and brainy students.

    * Public schools are sometimes not conducive to learning, since there is not much budget allocation from the government. This means there are times the budget for public schools is small.

    * Public schools are sometimes having incompetent teachers because of low salaries they offer. However, in the US there are bigger public schools because the country is fully developed and education has much higher budget.

As of now, Swine flu is still one of the health concerns of most individuals who are in the United States. As much as possible, the governments especially the Department of Health are creating several precautions in order to avoid in transmitting and increasing the risks of infecting lots of people in the country in regards to this swine flu. With that, the Madison Elementary schools in Alabama will be closed for about two weeks because of this swine flu outbreak. The Schools Superintendent Dee Fowler stated that while the decision over the closure of several elementary schools in May 14 will be happening, some health officials would be revisiting the different educational learning institutes in the country especially the elementary school by the end of this week.

It seem that it quite less been severe than its been first thought by the public especially the health and government officials in the United States about this Swine flu outbreak that create chaos and concern to lots of parents and to both local or international students. As the school administrators are still implementing temporary closure of their educational learning institutes in order to avoid spreading and transmission of this virus, the different school administrators together with the health officials in the country continually doing some preventives measures about this health concern and reassuring both the parents and learners that education program schedules will back to its normal setting as soon as possible.

The classes will be hold beginning this Monday until the health officials, school administrators and local governments are already assured that it’s already safe for the learners to continue their class session. Especially, right now those about three of probable cases of swine flu were already detected in the portion of Madison Heritage Elementary School. With that extreme health care system were very much implemented in the state especially to this school and provide several preventive measures in order to avoid swine flu virus. The school district together with the local government are expecting much full blast cooperation towards the learners and to their parents in regards to this temporary closure and as well in doing the preventive measures in taking care its own health and avoiding swine flu virus.
